About The Position

The Michigan Afterschool Partnership (MASP) serves as the state-wide intermediary for the out-of-school time (OST) sector. We exist to support the OST sector through advocacy, partnerships, training, and technical assistance. The vision of the Michigan Afterschool Partnership is the OST sector is a leader in providing young people and adults with the high-quality, youth-driven experiences and resources they need to thrive in school, work, and life. Our mission is to advocate for equitable systems and expand quality OST experiences for all youth in Michigan. In addition to our vision and mission, MASP is guided by its core values. MASP is seeking an ELO Coordinator to support the Michigan Afterschool Partnership(client) and the ELO Network in Grand Rapids, MI efforts and capacity to meet the needs of the Grand Rapids/Kent County OST program - All services will be carried out independently and in coordination with MASP staff and the Executive Director of Our Community’s Children, following mutually agreed-upon timelines and deliverables:

Requirements

  • Experience in and knowledgeable (5+ years) about the principles and practices of Michigan’s OST field
  • Experience specifically in coaching/mentoring/providing technical assistance
  • Experience with recruitment and building capacity
  • Experience in creation/development of data management system
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and collaboration skills
  • Experience the confidentiality of information and professional boundaries
  • Proven experience in partnering with youth-serving organizations, municipal government, higher education institutions and the business sector
  • Demonstration of the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively
  • Adherence to quality standards
  • Ability to arrange ideas, concepts, and feedback in a thoughtful and cohesive manner
  • Ability to gather and analyze information and data from a variety of sources
  • Ability to travel to Grand Rapids office and other local meeting/activities, as necessary
  • Ability to develop short and long-term goals

Responsibilities

  • Support providing program reporting and data tracking information to MASP on an agreed upon form
  • Research and disseminate out-of-school time best practices and resources through outreach, professional development workshops, and online resources to practitioners
  • Create a professional development calendar that includes offerings from ELO Network and other trainings as needed from MASP
  • Assist in the creation/development of a data management system and provide trainings on system use to ELO members
  • Recruit faith-based organizations, local foundations, community-based organizations, businesses, and youth-serving organizations to become paid members of the ELO Network
  • Attend ELO Network committee meetings and provide administrative support
  • Assist in the coordination of all ELO Network programs and events
  • Conduct a needs assessment and impact report
  • Conduct policy analysis in afterschool field for city of Grand Rapids and statewide; and provide an analysis of ELO activity alignment with the ELO strategic plan and develop dashboard of progress
  • Assist with grant data collection and reporting efforts
