Exercise Science Teacher (Part-Time or Full-Time): American Heritage School in American Fork, Utah, is seeking a qualified and motivated Exercise Science Teacher for the 2026–27 school year. This is a part-time or full-time position for the upcoming school year. Part-time would be at least 20 hours. This role provides the opportunity to help students develop lifelong habits of physical wellness while working within a rigorous, faith-based academic environment. Candidates should have a minimum of two-years' experience, preferably in a formal high school setting. Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required. Candidates must demonstrate an enduring love of youth, a love of teaching and learning, and a desire to work in a faith-based atmosphere aligned with values taught by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Successful candidates will also demonstrate strong communication and classroom management skills, high energy, experience in preparing and delivering daily lesson plans, experience establishing and communicating clear learning objectives, ability to use a variety of pedagogical methods, and willingness to learn.Candidates should be professional in appearance and demeanor and be willing and able to uphold and serve as ambassadors for the AHS Mission, Honor Code, and Diversity Statement, on and off campus. Duties include teaching a Lifelong Wellness course as well as exercise science courses that incorporate a focus on the five pillars emphasized at AHS: nutrition, sleep, mental and emotional health, breathing and mindfulness, and exercise. The selected candidate will be expected to create a classroom environment that promotes personal responsibility, physical literacy, and practical application of healthy living principles. Responsibilities include assessing and monitoring student progress, maintaining accurate records, and communicating effectively with parents, colleagues, and administration. Faculty members are expected to participate in meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events in support of the school's mission.
