About The Position

Exercise Physiologist Location: Selected candidate will preferably live in one of the following states: Georgia, Indiana, Missouri, North Carolina, or Tennessee. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office. This role enables associates to work virtually full-time, with the exception of required in-person training sessions, providing maximum flexibility and autonomy. This approach promotes productivity, supports work-life integration, and ensures essential face-to-face onboarding and skill development. Please note that per our policy on hybrid/virtual work, candidates not within a reasonable commuting distance from the posting location(s) will not be considered for employment, unless an accommodation is granted as required by law. Shift: Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 4:30pm ET with occasional evening availability depending on time zone. The Exercise Physiologist is responsible for providing exercise guidance to disease management members. How you will make an impact: Collaborates with nurse case managers in managing disease management health goals of members. Reinforces the primary care physicians exercise recommendations providing safe and effective exercise instruction and guidance. Provides member health coaching, education, assessment, and support of behavioral changes to promote self-management of chronic conditions. Provides members with education materials related specifically to member score condition.

Requirements

  • Requires a BS/BA degree in exercise science, exercise physiology, kinesiology, physical therapy or physical education and a minimum of 3 years experience as an exercise specialist, exercise physiologist or fitness instructor/trainer developing exercise prescriptions for special populations; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of 1-year cardiac rehab, pulmonary rehab, and physical therapy experience in clinical setting preferred.
  • Certification by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as a Health Fitness Instructor preferred.
  • MS in a related field and membership in American Society of Exercise Physiologist preferred.
