This position does not adhere to a set schedule. It is based on the needs of the department. Job Description: Exercise Physiologist Develop and implement exercise programs for medically high risk clients by providing assessment and interventions appropriate to assure safe and progressive improvement in functional capacity and lifestyle modification. Provide a comprehensive exercise education program for patients to support the services offered.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science required.
  • Experience with typical exercise rehabilitation equipment required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, and electronic health record, and typical office equipment (e.g., audio-visual equipment, fax machine, and copy machine) required.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and verbal required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS) required within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in rehabilitation/lifestyle modification preferred.
  • Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Phase II setting or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience with electrocardiogram (EKG) monitoring if hired in the cardiovascular/pulmonary rehabilitation area preferred.
  • Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology preferred.
  • Experience with blood pressure cuffs, stethoscopes, monitoring equipment, defibrillator and crash cart, oxygen tanks and regulators with aerobic and strength training equipment preferred.
  • Experience with ScottCare or other Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehab software preferred.
  • Experience with EPIC preferred.
  • Depending on position available, American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) certification and/or Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) certification preferred.
