Work Shift Various (United States of America) Job Summary: The Exercise Associate functions under the direct supervision of the Supervisor of Highland Athletic Club or Health Place. This individual is passionate about fitness and coaching others with purpose while providing excellent customer service. This position also includes assisting members with questions, and issues with equipment, ensuring equipment is in working order and providing work orders for broken equipment, providing tours of the facility, and cleaning equipment. This person also assists the Supervisor and exercise team with any projects related to exercise floor and group exercise programming.

Requirements

High school diploma Required or College students, in their last year of course work, in good academic standing in the areas of exercise science, Health promotion, Kinesiology, nursing or a relevant degree Preferred
Basic Life Support or BLS - Instructor
Display strong motivation for community outreach and working with children, adults and senior adults.
Displays excellent technical, interpersonal, organization, communication, and motivational skills.
Displays commitment to an excellent health and wellness lifestyle.
Displays competency in computer applications such as Windows.
Able to exercise independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative when performing roles.

Nice To Haves

some experience in public speaking, teaching, or group exercise instruction Preferred

Responsibilities

Cleaning and maintaining equipment - Clean all exercise equipment thoroughly on exercise floor and in group exercise rooms.
general equipment maintenance.
Tidy and straighten locker rooms.
Refill cleaner bottles and wipes containers.
Scheduling - Schedule consultations for exercise specialist.
Assist in scheduling personal training sessions.
Assist the exercise specialist - Set up and break down fitness assessment tools.
Assist with personal training sessions.
Assist with programming implementation.
Assist with group exercise classes.
