About The Position

OneMain Financial is seeking a seasoned Executive Recruiter to build and elevate the company’s executive recruiting capability. This role combines hands-on search execution with the development of enterprise-wide recruiting standards, processes, and best practices. The ideal candidate is a trusted advisor to senior leadership, with deep market knowledge, strong business acumen, and a proven track record in executive talent acquisition within fast-paced, high-accountability environments. Location: NYC or Wilmington, DE. Hybrid schedule in office Tuesday- Thursday.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of executive recruiting experience, ideally with both in-house and retained search experience; financial services background preferred.
  • Proven success managing complex, senior-level searches and influencing executive stakeholders.
  • Deep expertise in sourcing and engaging C-suite and senior leadership talent.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to guide, challenge, and influence leaders.
  • Experience designing and implementing recruiting frameworks, standards, and SLAs.
  • Demonstrated ability to build internal recruiting capability, enhancing search quality, speed, and overall effectiveness.
  • High degree of discretion, professionalism, and judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle executive searches, including research, sourcing, assessment, offer negotiation, and stakeholder management.
  • Engage top-tier executive talent through proactive market mapping, competitive intelligence, and direct outreach.
  • Deliver an exceptional candidate experience reflective of OneMain Financial’s leadership brand.
  • Serve as a credible advisor to senior leaders, providing market insights, recommendations, and guidance on executive hiring decisions.
  • Facilitate structured search kick-offs, alignment discussions, and regular status updates to ensure accountability.
  • Coach leaders on selection best practices, interviewing techniques, and assessment standards.
  • Establish enterprise-wide executive hiring standards, including search methodologies, assessment frameworks, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Develop tools, templates, reporting mechanisms, and playbooks to ensure consistency, transparency, and rigor in all executive searches.
  • Implement best-in-class candidate evaluation practices, including structured interviews and competency-based debriefs.
  • Ensure all executive hiring processes comply with regulatory and internal governance requirements.
