Executive Producer

WQED MultimediaPitsburgh, PA
10d$75,000 - $90,000Hybrid

About The Position

WQED Multimedia seeks an accomplished Executive Producer to lead and elevate our original entertainment, lifestyle, and community-focused programming across video, podcasts, television, and digital platforms. This senior leader will shape the next phase of WQED’s evolution as a multi-platform storytelling hub—creating content that reflects the people, places, and ideas that define life in southwestern Pennsylvania. This new chapter goes beyond producing stories for or about our neighbors, embracing opportunities to co-create and amplify stories with the communities we serve. Reporting to the Vice President of Programming & Distribution, the Executive Producer serves as a player-coach—a hands-on creator who mentors and empowers a team of producers, videographers, and editors. The ideal candidate is a strategic, collaborative leader who combines creative excellence with editorial discipline, nurturing talent and championing authentic, inclusive storytelling. They will help drive a cultural shift toward shared storytelling, where community voices are collaborators and co-creators, not just subjects. Submissions without a portfolio or work samples will not be reviewed. Please include links that showcase your creative or editorial leadership, along with a cover letter outlining your vision for storytelling that engages and inspires communities across southwestern Pennsylvania. This hybrid role requires a collaborative, in-person presence at least three days per week at WQED’s studios in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood.
