About The Position

This is a rare and defining opportunity for a senior oncology physician leader to shape the future of cancer care in San Francisco and across Northern California.

As Executive Medical Director of the Pacific Campus Cancer Advanced Care Center - a future Sutter Health Cancer Institute - and Service Line Chair, Oncology for Sutter West Bay Medical Group (SWBMG), you will serve as the inaugural physician leader guiding one of the most significant cancer care investments in Sutter Health's history. You will have the platform, resources, and system commitment to build something enduring: an integrated, multidisciplinary cancer program that sets a new standard for patient‑centered, high‑quality oncology care.

This role is not about incremental improvement. It is about designing and leading a destination cancer program from the ground up, during a period of major growth and innovation.

Requirements

• A current or emerging service line leader, division chief, or executive medical director
• A physician executive who thrives in dyad leadership models

Responsibilities

• Shape the clinical vision, strategy, and culture for oncology across a premier multispecialty medical group.
• Lead within a dyad partnership with experienced operational leadership, allowing you to focus on clinical excellence, innovation, and physician engagement while jointly driving execution, access, and performance.
• Operate within a broader, system‑level oncology service line, giving you the reach to influence care standards, pathways, and outcomes across the Sutter Health enterprise.
• Help define how modern cancer care is delivered-integrating prevention, diagnostics, treatment, research, and survivorship in a truly coordinated model.
• The design and launch of a state‑of‑the‑art Cancer Advanced Care Center in San Francisco
• The integration and growth of medical, surgical, radiation, and sub‑specialty oncology programs
• Multidisciplinary care models that improve outcomes and the patient and family experience
• Recruitment, development, and engagement of a growing oncology workforce
• Expansion of clinical trials, research, and innovation in partnership with system leaders
