About The Position

Avion Hospitality is seeking an experienced and detail-driven Executive Housekeeper to lead the Housekeeping Department at Hyatt Place Nashville/Brentwood during this exciting transition under new management. This role is essential to delivering a clean, welcoming, and guest-ready environment while building a strong, accountable housekeeping team. The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for the overall leadership, organization, and performance of the Housekeeping Department, including guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and laundry operations. This role ensures all areas of the hotel meet Avion Hospitality and brand standards while supporting guest satisfaction, productivity, cost control, and employee development. Exempt associates are expected to work as much of each workday as necessary to complete job responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Prior hotel housekeeping leadership experience required; Executive Housekeeper or Assistant Housekeeper experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, productivity standards, and inspection procedures.
  • Proven leadership, coaching, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage labor, inventory, and budgets effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Required certifications: Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, CPR, First Aid (or ability to obtain).

Responsibilities

  • Lead all Housekeeping and Laundry personnel, setting clear expectations for quality, productivity, and service.
  • Maintain a positive, service-oriented presence when interacting with guests and employees.
  • Prepare employee schedules based on forecasted occupancy, payroll budgets, and productivity standards.
  • Review worked hours and submit payroll accurately and on time.
  • Conduct daily morning meetings with Housekeeping staff.
  • Conduct monthly department meetings and weekly training sessions using Avion Hospitality’s steps-to-effective-training model.
  • Conduct 90-day and annual performance evaluations in accordance with company standards.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, coach, counsel, and discipline Housekeeping team members per Avion Hospitality SOPs.
  • Develop assigned management trainees and support competency completion as directed by Corporate.
  • Promote open communication and collaboration with all departments.
  • Inspect guest rooms daily to ensure cleanliness, presentation, and brand compliance.
  • Oversee daily inspections for VIP arrivals and special guests.
  • Ensure lobbies, guest hallways, guestrooms, back-of-house areas, and laundry meet Avion Hospitality standards.
  • Balance and clear room status nightly, reconciling Housekeeping reports with system room status.
  • Use hotel systems to verify room status and communicate updates accurately.
  • Conduct weekly walkthroughs with the General Manager and Property Engineer.
  • Ensure guest privacy and security at all times.
  • Maintain par levels for Housekeeping and Laundry supplies.
  • Order supplies and amenities on a monthly or quarterly basis as required.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly inventories in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with purchase order procedures, invoice vouchering, and checkbook accounting.
  • Properly store, secure, and issue supplies to meet operational needs.
  • Complete all required reports accurately and on time.
  • Maintain and enforce Housekeeping safety rules and procedures.
  • Keep MSDS sheets current and accessible; respond appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Establish and maintain a key control system for the department.
  • Ensure proper use of radios and professional radio etiquette.
  • Participate in required Manager on Duty (MOD) coverage.
  • Ensure implementation of all Avion Hospitality policies and house rules.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, concerns, complaints, and incidents.
  • Monitor the Guest Request Log daily to ensure all requests are fulfilled.
  • Track and manage Lost & Found according to company standards.
  • Monitor valet laundry operations and verify returned items (property specific).
  • Communicate and follow up on maintenance requests with the Engineering Department.
  • Focus the Housekeeping Department on its impact on guest satisfaction scores.
  • Support hotel operations during peak business periods.
  • Attend all-employee meetings and management-required functions.
  • Assist with biannual deep cleaning and maintenance projects.
  • Establish additional departmental standards with General Manager approval as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
