About The Position

The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the hotel's housekeeping operations. This includes supervising a team of Assistant Housekeepers, Breakfast Attendants, Room Attendants, Laundry staff, Housemen, and Night Cleaners to ensure that all areas of the building meet cleanliness standards. The role involves training, scheduling, and assigning duties to department personnel, as well as checking the quality of work and making necessary corrections. The Executive Housekeeper also handles guest complaints related to housekeeping, manages supplies and uniforms, tests new products, and coordinates with maintenance for repairs. Daily inspection of all rooms is a key responsibility, along with assisting the housekeeping department with cleaning tasks when needed to optimize labor.

Responsibilities

  • Makes up morning work assignments to ensure all areas of building are properly maintained in accordance with cleanliness standards.
  • Supervises the activities of Assistant Housekeeper, Breakfast Attendants Room Attendants, Laundry, Housemen, and Night Cleaners engaged in all types of the hotel cleaning operations.
  • Maintains company productivity standards.
  • Trains, assigns, and schedules department personnel.
  • Checks quality of work performed and makes appropriate corrections and changes as necessary.
  • Handles guest complaints concerning housekeeping service or refers problem to management for adjustment.
  • Requisitions uniforms and supplies.
  • Supervises the testing of new products for the housekeeping department.
  • Notifies maintenance of any needed repairs.
  • Responsible for the inspection of ALL rooms daily, ensuring cleanliness standards are being met.
  • Helps guests and employees in every way possible when called upon and does it willingly and pleasantly.
  • Lists and items of lost and found items.
  • Checks any vacant rooms for condition and possible occupancy, reporting any discrepancies to Management.
  • Checks rooms to ensure that lights are working properly.
  • Inspects for needed repairs, such as, wallpaper and painting needs, etc.
  • Supervises the keeping of all storage areas and linen rooms in a clean and satisfactory condition, as well as, stocked with needed items.
  • Reports and delivers valuable items to the Manager's Office as early as possible after a guest has checked out.
  • Perform any and all duties not specifically outlined above that are an inherent part of the position.
  • Perform and execute any requests made by corporate, GM / AGM / supervisor, in a cooperative and expeditious manner.
  • Assists housekeeping department by also cleaning rooms, stayovers, and requests to reduce labor as much as possible.
