The Executive Housekeeper, also referred to as Director of Housekeeping, is responsible for overseeing the hotel’s housekeeping department and ensuring a clean and safe environment for all guests. This role involves leading, training, and supervising the housekeeping team, ensuring adherence to proper safety and sanitation standards, overseeing budget and supplies, and contributing to overall guest satisfaction and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have Hotel Housekeeping Manager experience.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the hotel’s housekeeping department and ensuring a clean and safe environment for all guests.
  • Leading, training, and supervising the housekeeping team.
  • Ensuring all housekeeping staff follow the proper safety and sanitation standards for guest rooms and public spaces.
  • Overseeing the allocation of budget and supplies for the housekeeping department.
  • Contributing to the overall satisfaction of hotel guests.
  • Overseeing all aspects of the hotel’s housekeeping operations, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and team members.
  • Providing leadership, direction, and support to the housekeeping team.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, service, and efficiency.
  • Managing departmental budgets, inventory, and resources.
  • Leading all housekeeping operations, including interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and supporting team members in alignment with brand standards and company core values.
  • Monitoring and evaluating team performance to ensure efficient operations and adherence to established policies and procedures.
  • Conducting routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and grounds to ensure cleanliness, presentation, and safety standards are consistently met.
  • Responding to guest inquiries and resolving concerns in a timely, professional manner, ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction.
  • Developing and managing team schedules based on occupancy levels and operational needs.
  • Overseeing inventory control and procurement processes to ensure timely ordering and availability of supplies.
  • Preparing and maintaining all required departmental reports and documentation.
  • Analyzing and communicating guest service scores, implementing strategies to improve performance and enhance the overall guest experience.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal audit standards, including key control, risk management, lost and found procedures, and guest room safety protocols.
  • Managing departmental expenses in accordance with the approved budget and financial goals set by the General Manager.
  • Ensuring adherence to all brand standards and operational guidelines.
  • Supporting sustainability initiatives and ensuring environmentally responsible practices are followed.
  • Promoting and maintaining a safe work environment by adhering to OSHA regulations, MSDS guidelines, and company safety programs, including participation in safety committees as required.
  • Performing additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
