The Executive Director is responsible for the overall organization and direction of the agency's functions. This includes strategic and operational planning, budgeting, and monitoring progress towards established goals. A key aspect of the role is ensuring the provision of interdisciplinary care while upholding ethical business and clinical practices. The Executive Director is tasked with directing staff in all aspects of patient services, including admission, discharge, transfer, revocation, and direct care provision. This also involves employing qualified personnel, overseeing their education, orientation, in-service training, continuing education, competency testing, and performance improvement, as well as ensuring adequate staff supervision and support services are available at all times. The role requires maintaining current knowledge of community service systems and ensuring all services provided are approved by the hospice. Furthermore, the Executive Director is responsible for ensuring the agency's compliance with all federal and state laws, managing conflict and complaint resolution, and implementing and monitoring effective budgeting and accounting systems to ensure financial stability and promote patient health and safety. Finally, the position involves evaluating programs, services, and personnel, and ensuring overall compliance with Medicare regulations and established personnel policies and procedures.
