About The Position

The Executive Director serves as the senior administrative and strategic leader of the Psaros Center for Financial Markets and Policy (Center), providing executive-level vision, leadership, and operational oversight to advance the Center’s mission, impact, and global reputation. In close partnership with the Founding Director and advisory board, the Executive Director is responsible for setting and executing a comprehensive, multi-year strategy that positions the Center as a leading authority in financial markets and policy, aligned with the priorities and values of the McDonough School of Business (MSB) and Georgetown University. The Executive Director oversees all aspects of strategy, fundraising, operations, programming, and stakeholder engagement. This role carries primary responsibility for cultivating and sustaining high-level relationships with corporate, foundation, government, and industry leaders; securing philanthropic and sponsored funding; and ensuring the Center's long-term financial sustainability and growth.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree required
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressively senior leadership experience in finance, public policy, academia, industry, government, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success in executive-level fundraising, business development, or revenue generation with corporations and foundations.
  • Proven ability to lead complex organizations or initiatives, including strategic planning, budget oversight, and team leadership.
  • Exceptional executive presence with outstanding written and oral communication skills; ability to engage credibly with senior leaders, boards, media, and policymakers.

  • Recognized expertise or thought leadership in areas related to financial markets, regulation, FinTech, ESG, or public policy strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leads development and implementation of multi-year strategic plan.
  • Formulates plans and strategies to advance and promote the Center.
  • Represents the Center to internal and external interests at the highest levels.
  • Serve as a visible intellectual leader and content authority in financial markets and policy.
  • Author and oversee the production of high-impact thought leadership, including white papers, policy briefs, blogs, and reports.
  • Set annual minimum fundraising goals and develop a strategy to meet them.
