About The Position

The UHealth system at the University of Miami has an exciting opportunity for an Executive Director, Finance in the UHealth Finance Department. CORE JOB SUMMARY The Executive Director, Finance directs and oversees all finance activities for assigned department(s), such as budget preparation, review and analysis of department financial performance reports, and preparation and review of productivity benchmarks. Moreover, the Executive Director, Finance develops financial strategies that will ensure compliance with the budget parameters set for applicable department(s).

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience required
Strategic Alignment: Skilled in aligning departmental goals with enterprise-wide strategy and develops comprehensive strategic plans.
Financial Management: Ensures fiscal responsibility, and optimization of financial performance.
Resource Management: Ability to allocate resources and drive innovation and growth.
Adaptability: Proven ability to adjust to changes and leads/inspires transformational change.
Team Leadership: Ability to build and lead high-performing teams, manage complex projects, and ensure successful project delivery.
Technology & Analytics: Understanding of technology, data analytics, and performance measurement to drive strategic decisions and identify opportunities.
Communication: Ability to influence others, articulate strategic vision, and ensure clear and persuasive communication.
Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.

Responsibilities

Assists in preparation of miscellaneous business plans relating to assigned facility operations.
Participates in strategic long-range and tactical planning.
Performs economic evaluation of new programs and equipment.
Completes trend analyses and volume projections.
Develops strategic pricing and sensitivity analyses.
Initiates appropriate controls to ensure compliance with operating and capital budgets.
Works with other departments, staff, and external entities to undertake the budget preparation process effectively.
Monitors and summarizes the status of all financial targets.
Trains, mentors, and supervises department staff to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Ensures internal control oversight and compliance with laws and regulations, safeguarding of assets, compliance with University policies and procedures, reliability of internal and external reporting, and efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Creates an effective control environment, conducts risk assessment, implements and monitors controls.
