About The Position

CD&S SELL-SIDE SEGMENT LEAD The Sell-Side Sales Segment Lead – New York, is responsible for all facets of the development, execution and management of the sales strategy for the Sell-side segment in the North America region. This position is responsible for delivering against revenue targets and accelerating growth across all asset classes and in each of CME Group’s business units. Strong sales leadership capabilities, extensive industry knowledge, key senior bank contacts, and a track record of success in growing relevant sales/product businesses are required. This role requires strong collaboration, coordination and leadership with other CD&S regional segment leads globally. Principal Accountabilities: Lead a sales team covering cash markets in Cash FX and CME Group listed futures and options markets. Must be able to work collaboratively across functions - Business Line Management, Clearing, Technology and Research & Product Development – to best service our clients and identify new opportunities for CME Group. Develop and execute sales strategy to accelerate revenue growth from existing and new clients/desks Lead further development and execution of CME Group’s Sell-Side sales strategy in North America and ensure alignment with the relevant business lines and regional Sell-Side segment leads Understand the global competitive landscape, impacts on the client segment within region and plan to address these challenges and opportunities. Ensure alignment of internal resources to meet strategic account plans; manage the allocation of budget and resources In collaboration with the Americas CD&S Head, Business Line Heads, Clearing House and Marketing, develop strategies to optimally position CME Group products and services for Sell-side institutions by increasing segment penetration; increasing the number of asset classes/products traded per client as well as feedback leading to development of additional products/services Leverage CRM system to record contacts, initiatives and opportunities; and identify themes across the client segment for action Manage and coach a team of sales representatives Represent CME Group to the media, industry, conferences, trade shows and associations as necessary Understand competitive landscape and develop/align growth and go-to-market client segment strategies CME Group is committed to offering a competitive total rewards package for our employees that recognizes their contributions to the business and reflects our long-term investment in their future. The pay range for this role is $205,100-$341,800. Actual salary offered will be dependent on a wide array of factors including but not limited to: relevant experience, skills, education and comparison to internal employees (where relevant). Requirements

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in derivatives and/or cash market sales management covering Sell-Side clients.
  • Requires understanding of multiple derivative asset classes that make up the CORE of CME Group business (Equities, Rates, Metals, Energy, Ags, FX, OTC IRS, Cash Treasuries and Repo)
  • A significant understanding of CME Group competitor products
  • Established relationships with heads of desks and senior traders at top money center banks in the US as well as Prime Services
  • Experience developing and executing successful sales strategies and account plans
  • Strong customer service skills and demonstrated ability to interact effectively across all levels of an organization including senior level management
  • Well-developed networking and relationship building skills, complemented by strong sales management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree with advanced degree preferred
  • Series 7, 63 preferred but not required
