Position Summary Reporting to the VP, Finance, Pharmacy FP&A, this role will be responsible for leading a small team to provide financial and strategic support for CVS Retail Pharmacy. The role is responsible for partnering both within Finance and with teams within Retail Pharmacy to drive improvement in FP&A processes supporting Retail Pharmacy. Additionally the role partners with Retail Payer Relations to ensure appropriate financial controls for PBM/Payer deals being negotiated and accurate reflection of those contracts in financial Budget, Forecast, and Actual results. The role directly interfaces with multiple SVPs and VPs throughout the Retail business as well as the CFO of the Pharmacy & Consumer Wellness segment. The role has ownership and is accountable for certain financial reporting, planning, and analysis of the Retail Pharmacy business.

Requirements

  • 15 years of progressive finance experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong analytical knowledge base and financial acumen, with proven ability to vision, strategize, and develop actionable tactics against key facts and data insights.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with an ability to successfully balance business priorities and maintain a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to problem solve, identify, and remove roadblocks, triage, and prioritize issues.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Identify areas of improvement in FP&A processes supporting Retail Pharmacy. Develop solutions and lead projects to implement process or system enhancements.
  • Support payer relations underwriting and negotiating team as cost of goods sold expert.
  • Develop and maintain control functions for the CVS CostVantage generic cost file (GCF) to ensure accuracy of published quarterly files to be distributed to contracted payers.
  • Own the attestation process with the third-party vendor playing a critical role between the business and vendor ensuring timely completion of the quarterly attestation.
  • Partner with leaders across Retail Pharmacy on business initiatives or strategic projects, acting as a financial partner to evaluate their financial impact. Examples include store formats, product sourcing channel optimization, assessment of regulatory changes, etc.
  • Support core FP&A processes for Retail Pharmacy gross margin. Examples include sizing variance drivers of actual results, identifying key variables in margin forecast/budget.
