About The Position

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside a team of dedicated professionals focused on the firm’s philanthropic strategies and social impact efforts. As an Executive Director, Regional Executive on the Corporate Responsibility team, you will be based in Los Angeles and oversee the firm’s Global Philanthropy strategy and execution across major West Region markets in California, Washington, Utah and Oregon. You will drive the integration and delivery of the firm’s four pillars—careers & skills, business growth & entrepreneurship, financial health, and community development—ensuring all philanthropic and community engagement efforts are tailored to local needs and opportunities. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maximize impact and represent the firm at high-profile events, including the LA Olympics. The Corporate Responsibility (CR) Division is responsible for the development and implementation of the firm's CR agenda by crafting goals, policies, and initiatives that align with and support the firm's business strategies, reflect our values, and support the communities where we do business. The Division includes Global Philanthropy, Public Engagement, Global Government Relations, the PolicyCenter, the JPMorganChase Institute, and Sustainability. The Global Philanthropy team consists of Employee Engagement & Volunteerism, Impact Finance, and the Foundation teams at the national and local levels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of experience in economic development, philanthropy, community engagement, or related fields
  • Demonstrated experience in corporate philanthropy or private sector roles
  • Proven experience leading teams and large-scale, multi-stakeholder initiatives
  • Strong understanding of local economic development and the unique characteristics of the Los Angeles market and broader West Region
  • Familiarity with grantmaking standards, including assessing a range of risk factors
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including public, private, and nonprofit sectors
  • Outstanding analytical, strategic planning, and project management skills
  • Exceptional oral and written communication abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
  • Experience representing an organization externally and serving as a thought leader

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive market strategies for the West Region, ensuring alignment with the firm’s business priorities and Corporate Responsibility’s social impact agenda
  • Lead the firm’s philanthropic and community engagement efforts, with a special focus on Los Angeles and major regional events
  • Build and maintain a robust network of relationships with government, philanthropic, business, and nonprofit leaders across the region and serve as the primary relationship manager for key external partners
  • Represent the firm at high-profile events, forums, and with the media
  • Oversee the implementation and alignment of initiatives across all four pillars, ensuring a holistic approach to economic development and social impact in each market
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of the economic, social, and community landscape in Los Angeles and the broader West Region; monitor trends and identify opportunities to maximize the firm’s impact, especially in connection with major events such as the LA Olympics
  • Lead the design, management, and evaluation of philanthropic programs and grant portfolios, ensuring effective execution, risk management, and compliance with firm policies and procedures
  • Partner with internal stakeholders—including business lines, Market Leadership Teams, and cross-functional partners such as HR, communications, and legal—to drive collaboration and amplify impact
  • Communicate the firm’s approach to expanding economic opportunity and Corporate Responsibility initiatives to diverse internal and external audiences
  • Manage and mentor a high-performing team, fostering collaboration, professional growth, and a culture of excellence
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on the impact of regional and Los Angeles-specific initiatives, using insights to shape future strategy and amplify results
