About The Position

The Head of Convergence Services and Digital Engagement leads a high-impact SWAT-style transformation unit mandated to solve the bank’s most complex cross-functional pain points. This team conducts deep diagnostic reviews within Business Units (BUs) and Support Units, uncovers root causes, and designs innovative and integrated services using the bank’s enterprise capabilities—including AI/ML agents, data platforms, analytics services, workflow and automation engines, blockchain/tokenisation capabilities, microservices, APIs, integration platforms, and net new services that must be built to close capability gaps. This role is central to accelerating UOB’s evolution into a network platform organisation, where products, channels, partners, data, technology, and governance converge to deliver intelligent, interoperable, and scalable services that fuel new business value and ecosystem growth.

Requirements

  • 15–20 years of progressive leadership spanning technology, digital services, enterprise platforms, and large‑scale digital transformation initiatives.
  • Over 10 years leading high‑performing, cross‑functional engineering and transformation teams in complex enterprise environments requiring rapid delivery, technical depth, and strong stakeholder alignment.
  • Proven track record driving enterprise-scale transformation involving multiple business units, regulators, and external partners.
  • Deep understanding of APIs, microservices, integration architecture, event‑driven patterns with the ability to architect secure, scalable, interoperable service layers.
  • Good understanding of emerging technologies including AI, data and blockchain technologies, interoperability frameworks, and regulatory considerations.
  • Hands‑on programming capability in Python, Java, Go, or Node.js for rapid prototyping and technical evaluation.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable solution roadmaps.
  • Strong storytelling and communication capabilities across executive audiences, regulators, and technical teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority, resolve conflict, and drive alignment across disparate stakeholders.
  • Builder‑mentor mindset: able to recruit, coach, develop, and retain top engineering and product talent.

Responsibilities

  • Shape and lead a SWAT-style convergence delivery model for rapid problem-solving
  • Build reusable solution blueprints and accelerators
  • Responsible for platform monetization
  • Orchestrate capabilities across the Innovation Group to create integrated solutions
  • Identify and operationalise partnerships to build connectivity and the network ecosystem
  • Responsible for Business Model Innovation, Process Automation & Convergence Delivery
  • Incubate and productise Data, AI, and Blockchain capabilities
  • Build a culture of rapid innovation and cross-domain engineering
  • Facilitate structured, end-to-end discovery workshops
  • Co-develop future state process flows, integration needs, and value driver hypotheses
  • Translate workshop outputs into formalised artefacts
  • Align business, technology, risk, data, and governance partners on next step actions
