About The Position

The Executive Director of Enterprise Development oversees the Foundation's regional and enterprise major gift, annual fund, alumni, and employee fundraising programs. The ED of Enterprise Development is a key leader on a team that raised over $50M in FY2025 and will have revenue accountability for a significant component of those dollars raised moving forward. Leading a multi-level team 10-12 staff members, the ED of Enterprise Development will be responsible for developing a strategic vision to leverage the expertise of these frontline areas to increase donor qualification, cultivation, and solicitation. The ED of Enterprise Development will inspire and lead the enterprise team to work collaboratively to achieve a team annual revenue goal of 10M+. This position will report to the Associate Vice President of Individual Giving and serve as an Individual Giving leadership team member. The ED of Enterprise Development will be a highly experienced major gift and annual fund fundraiser who will lead by example in growing and managing a personal portfolio. They will have a sophisticated understanding of annual fund donor engagement and the art of building strong donor portfolios and transitioning donor relationships from transactional to relationship-based. The ED will be an experienced, collaborative, and creative leader. They will be partner with their direct reports to develop innovative opportunities to grow the foundation's alumni and staff giving programs, as well as develop the next generation of philanthropists.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree - Required
  • At least ten (10) years in frontline fundraising - Required
  • At least eight (8) years in annual giving, ideally in healthcare or hospital setting - Required
  • Experience in direct individual solicitation - Required
  • Strong written, presentation, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills. (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to persuasively promote the Hospital’s mission through email, video, and social media campaigns. (Required proficiency)

Responsibilities

  • Inspires a high-performing development program with measurable, aggressive, and attainable fundraising and programmatic goals in support of established priorities.
  • Manages and leads major and annual gift officers to successfully meet annual performance and pipeline goals. Creates and manages annual operating goals.
  • Responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of innovative programing and collaborative projects to grow the foundation’s alumni and staff giving programs.
  • Ensures staff meets expectations for professional development, including active and engaged participation in training, meetings, and conferences.
  • Collaborate with Direct Response, Planned Giving, Clinical Development and Principal Gifts leaders and colleagues to identify and implement cross-functional donor qualification and cultivation activities.
  • Manages a portfolio major gifts prospects and supports principal gift work as appropriate.

  • Develop and implement an annual operational plan for the annual giving program that aligns with the Foundation and Hospital's strategic goals
  • Work closely with leaders of Donor Relations and Stewardship to steward annual giving donors
  • Create and manage the Enterprise Development budget to assure sound fiscal expenditures and stewardship.
