Requirements

  • Hands-on chef experience required
  • Strong knowledge of food trends, cost control, sanitation, and presentation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, and internet tools

Nice To Haves

  • A.S. degree or equivalent experience
  • 3–5 years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience
  • Extensive catering and high-volume foodservice experience preferred
  • Institutional and batch cooking experience
  • ServSafe certification highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plan regular and modified menus based on established guidelines
  • Follow standardized recipes, portioning, and presentation standards
  • Complete and use production worksheets and waste logs; taste meals for quality
  • Train kitchen staff on food prep, equipment use, safety, and sanitation
  • Maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules for kitchen and equipment
  • Manage inventory to stay within guidelines while ensuring availability of items
  • Make decisions on leftover product usage in line with company policy
  • Comply with health and sanitation regulations and pass audits
  • Follow all facility, department, and company safety procedures
  • Participate in meetings, development sessions, and training as needed
