Executive Chef 1 – Lead the Culinary Experience at American Water (Camden, NJ) Sodexo Corporate Services is seeking an energetic, creative, and hands-on Executive Chef 1 to elevate the dining experience at American Water in Camden, NJ. Requirements

  • Strong background in food and labor cost management
  • Experience with ordering, purchasing, and inventory systems
  • Ability to read and analyze sales data, adjust menus, and streamline production
  • Comfort with culinary management platforms and POS reporting tools
  • Proven leadership skills with a passion for team development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Expertise in HACCP, ServSafe, and local health regulations
  • Commitment to maintaining an organized, safe, and compliant workplace
  • Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
  • Minimum Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Designing innovative menus for breakfast, lunch, and catering
  • Leading food production with approximately 80% hands-on involvement
  • Managing ordering, purchasing, and inventory
  • Ensuring proper food & labor cost control
  • Maintaining the highest standards in safety, sanitation, and compliance
  • Leading a team of 3–5 talented culinary professionals
  • Coaching, mentoring, and fostering a positive, respectful kitchen culture
  • Setting standards for consistency, quality, and accountability
