About The Position

Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC) is seeking a highly organized, professional, and proactive Executive Assistant to the President. This position plays a vital role in supporting the President's Office by providing high-level administrative assistance, managing confidential information, coordinating executive communications, and serving as a liaison between the President and internal/external stakeholders. The Executive Assistant to the President provides high-level, confidential administrative and executive support to the President of Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC). This role serves as the primary liaison between the President's Office and the Executive Council, internal campus stakeholders (including students), the Board of Trustees, the NC Community College System Office, government agencies, and community/business partners. The position supports the President in coordinating college operations, governance functions, policy compliance, and advancing FTCC's mission, goals, and strategic priorities to drive student success and produce a Future Ready workforce aligned with the economic needs of Cumberland County, the region, and North Carolina. The Executive Assistant receives direct supervision from the President and exercises supervisory responsibility over technical, paraprofessional staff, and student workers. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities).
  • 3-5 years of progressively responsible administrative and executive-level support.

  • Experience in the North Carolina Community College System, state government, or public higher education administration.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the President's calendar, appointments, travel arrangements, and correspondence with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Keep the President briefed and prepared for meetings, events, and commitments.
  • Draft, proofread, and edit letters, reports, presentations, and public/governmental correspondence.
  • Handle confidential information and sensitive personnel/institutional matters with discretion and professionalism.
  • Attend Executive Council and other meetings; record, transcribe, and disseminate minutes.
  • Perform responsible and complex administrative tasks requiring personal initiative and independent judgement
  • Coordinate Board of Trustees activities, including correspondence, meeting schedules, agendas, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with NC Open Meetings Law (G.S. 143-318.9 et seq.).
  • Act as liaison between the President, Board members, and stakeholders for clear, timely communication and follow-up.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for the Office of the President.
  • Coordinate correspondence with campus departments and external stakeholders.
  • Support the President in community relations, donor engagement, and initiatives to enhance FTCC's visibility and mission.
  • Prepare and submit reports to the NC Community College System Office, State Board of Community Colleges, and state/federal agencies.
  • Monitor compliance with college policies, procedures, federal/state legislation, codes, and accreditation standards.
  • Assist with institutional planning, assessment, compliance and accountability initiatives.
  • Assist in planning and executing presidential events, campus activities, and community initiatives.
  • Support strategic projects aligned with FTCC's mission; coordinate cross-functional teams for effective execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Manage the President's Office budget, purchasing, expenditure documentation, and reports.
  • Supervise technical/paraprofessional staff and student workers.
  • Coordinate assignment of technical/paraprofessional staff
  • Maintain efficient office systems, records, and correspondence documentation.
  • Assist administrative and secretarial staff supporting Vice Presidents, Executive Directors, Associate Vice Presidents and Deans in preparing reports and documentation for review and approval by the executive leadership team, President and Board of Trustees.
  • Review hiring packets to verify applicant credentials, training, educational requirements and background documentation.
  • Preform other duties as assigned.
