About The Position

The North Carolina Office of the State Auditor (OSA) is your fiscal watchdog. We audit more than $100 billion in state assets and liabilities each year, bringing transparency to local, state, and federal government. Our reports and findings include recommendations that result in good government reforms. OSA thoroughly investigates alleged cases of fraud, waste, and abuse of taxpayer dollars, working with law enforcement on prosecution when warranted. The Office of the State Auditor (OSA) is looking for an Executive Assistant to assist the Special Investigations Division in a variety of administrative tasks, including scheduling, document preparation, external and internal communication, planning travel arrangements, and more. As part of our team, you will get to: Provide one-on-one support to the management of the OSA Special Investigations Division Interact with a range of both external and internal individuals for planning and scheduling purposes Help coordinate the strategic plan established by the Special Investigations Division Exercise both a high level of decision-making and professional judgement when completing needed tasks Serving as the key communicator for the Special Investigations Division when interacting with both OSA administrative divisions and fellow audit divisions on a variety of subjects Complete on-site travel to support the Special Investigations Division as needed Organize documentation through tasks such as copying and scanning Assist OSA’s Rapid Response and Operations Divisions as needed

Requirements

  • Ability to develop ideas into plans of action and to coordinate the actions through implementation
  • Ability to provide a variety of administrative support tasks
  • Considerable knowledge of state program services, policies, procedures, laws, rules, and regulations
  • A bachelor’s degree, preferably in business administration or a related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution OR An associate’s degree in secretarial science, business administration, or a related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience OR A high school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience OR An equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one support to the management of the OSA Special Investigations Division
  • Interact with a range of both external and internal individuals for planning and scheduling purposes
  • Help coordinate the strategic plan established by the Special Investigations Division
