Position Specific Responsibilities (Division specific responsibilities) OFFICE OF CHIEF APPRAISER (EXEC PROJECT ADMIN) • Maintain Chief Appraiser’s duty calendar, ensuring he or she has ample time to meet all statutory and regulatory obligations • Collaborate on development and effective delivery of Chief Appraiser’s highest-level communications, consistently reflecting district’s core values, often without opportunity for rewrites • Document, in real time, executive-level communications (e.g., meetings and remote conferences), many of which are confidential or sensitive in nature, for review and action by the Chief Appraiser • Research and prepare executive reports and summaries for the Chief Appraiser and Board of Directors (and elected officials and agencies, as directed) • Identify and route for action time-sensitive, executive-level requirements POSITION QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS KNOWLEDGE: • HCAD operating practices and policies • Scheduling principles • Statutory deadlines • Board of Directors requirements WORKING CONDITIONS Positions in this class typically require repetitive motions, sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time in an office setting. PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS Must have sufficient mobility to visit property sites that may feature rough terrain and to work outdoors in unfavorable weather conditions. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time with ability to reach, bend and move up/down on steps. Must be able to lift up to 50-pounds. The position requires considerable concentration, creativity and ability to manage time effectively. The position is subject to stress caused by a changing public environment, mandatory deadlines and heavy workload. Requires the ability to ask questions that will bring forth the information needed to make sound decisions.
