Dates June 1-June 30, 2026 (ELS program will run June 7 – June 18) 25-35 hours a week Some meetings may be required in Spring 2026 Examined Life Scholars Program Purpose ELS is a grant-based program that will expose low-income local high school students to Baylor’s campus. The students will be selected in the spring of their junior year of high school based on the following criteria: low-income (Pell eligible), first-generation, recommendation from high school staff, and in good academic and behavioral standing. ELS students will live on Baylor’s campus for two weeks in June and take a seminar entitled The Purpose of an Education. Scheduled events and activities through Baylor’s Campus Living & Learning and Student Engagement offices will give ELS students exposure to the diverse social and cultural life beyond the classroom on a college campus. The Graduate Apprentice will work with the ELS students during the summer program by living in the residence hall, attending the seminar, and assisting with campus programming.
