Ericsson Web Services (EWS) Our BCSS CNE SPS Shared Development Cloud group builds the next generation of cloud infrastructure using Kubernetes, AI, and cutting-edge cloud-native technologies. As an EWS Site Reliability Engineer, you’ll learn from experienced engineers while working on meaningful challenges: supporting resilient systems that power 5G/6G networks, contributing to AI-powered automation, and helping build infrastructure that thousands of developers depend on. This role offers a clear pathway to Senior SRE as you develop expertise in cloud-native technologies and site reliability engineering. • BCSS: Business Area Cloud Software and Services • CNE: Core Networks Engineering • SPS: Software Production System What you will do As an EWS SRE, you’ll support and operate —our internal cloud-native platform built on Kubernetes. You’ll work hands-on with infrastructure systems, learning from senior engineers while contributing to automation, monitoring, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Linux Fundamentals: Solid understanding of Linux systems, command line, basic networking, and system administration
  • Programming/Scripting: Proficiency in at least one language (Python, Bash, or Go) with ability to write automation scripts
  • Containerization: Familiarity with Docker or container concepts; willingness to learn Kubernetes
  • Cloud-Native Interest: Curiosity about cloud technologies, Kubernetes, and modern infrastructure practices
  • Version Control: Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and eagerness to troubleshoot technical issues
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 0-5 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or related roles
  • New graduates with relevant internships, academic projects, or demonstrated technical ability are encouraged to apply
  • Strong desire to learn and grow in cloud-native technologies and SRE practices
  • Good communication and collaboration skills for working in team environments

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to Kubernetes or container orchestration platforms
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana) or logging systems
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Ansible, Terraform)
  • Exposure to AI-assisted coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor)
  • Academic or personal projects involving cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain cloud infrastructure for EWS, working with Kubernetes platforms across compute, storage, and networking layers
  • Build automation scripts and tools for infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, and operations
  • Assist in developing and operating SRE systems that leverage AI and LLMs for intelligent automation
  • Support cloud security practices including vulnerability scanning, security monitoring, and incident response
  • Participate in SRE on-call rotation covering North American time zones (with mentorship and support)
  • Learn and contribute to Infrastructure as Code practices using tools like Ansible and Terraform
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on cloud infrastructure and automation projects
  • Stay current with cloud-native technologies and the CNCF ecosystem

  • The salary range for this position is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
  • The salary range for this position is Santa Clara : $138,000-172,500
  • Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit’s objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.
  • Ericsson offers excellent health benefits including the choice of three medical plan options and a dental plan option that allow an employee to select the level of coverage that suits their needs. Employees will receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost that Ericsson pays toward the cost of their medical and dental premiums for themselves and eligible covered dependents.
  • The Ericsson US 401(k) Plan offers an automatic 3% company contribution and Ericsson match $1 for every $1 you put into the 401(k) Plan on the first 3% of your eligible pay, plus 50 cents on every $1 on the next 2% of eligible pay. When you contribute at least 5% of eligible pay, you are receiving Ericsson’s full matching contributions of 4%. Matching and company automatic contributions stop when your total eligible pay for the year reaches the IRS limits. Employees will also receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost of basic life insurance and basic accidental death and dismemberment coverage, as well as short-term and long-term disability coverage. Employees also have the option to participate in Ericsson’s Stock Purchase Plan.
  • New employees are provided a minimum of 15 days of accrued vacation, up to 3 personal days per year, 11 annual holidays, 8 hours of volunteer time, and 80 hours of sick time annually. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee’s start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 16 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
