About The Position

Job Summary Performs daily cleaning routine in patient rooms, public areas and ancillary areas. Maintains the healthcare environment in a clean, sanitary and attractive condition for patients, visitors and employees utilizing various cleaning equipment. Collects regulated and non-regulated waste, soiled linens, and materials and places in designated locations per regulatory guidelines. Schedule: 80%-3:00pm-11:00pm 10%- 11:00pm-7:00am 10% - 8:00am- 5:00pm Essential Job Functions Cleans and services any assigned hospital area/facility. Performs routine cleaning requests from customers within departmental duties. Performs daily clean-up and care of equipment and materials, etc. Meets hospital's established standards of cleanliness Utilizes department established work patterns and cleaning steps Collects and transports regulated and non-regulated waste, soiled linens, or materials to designated locations in a manner described in department procedure and per regulatory guidelines Containers/Liners secured and placed in upright position to prevent spillage Waste holding areas are cleaned daily. Obtains, utilizes and replenishes supplies in a cost-effective manner according to hospital/department procedure Accurately records supplies taken/removed on department inventory form. Records accurate data on all work-related forms Communicates on form as to status of task, verbally to shift charge person. Assures all requested data fields of forms are completed. Specialty Essential Functions Housekeeper I maintain the daily cleaning and supplying of paper, soap, hand lotions and replacing trash liners in patient rooms, nursing stations, lounges, bathrooms, office areas, ancillary areas and any other areas assigned in accordance with standard procedures of the Environmental Service Department. Damp wipe all furniture. Clean all bathroom fixtures to include all dispensers and vents. Dust/Wet mop all tile/wood floor surfaces. Spot clean walls, windows, doors and frames. Maintain all high/low dusting. Replenish all supplies (i.e. trash liners, paper towels, toilet paper, soaps). Cleaning discharge/transfer patient rooms must strip bed, clean entire bed and dress bed. Assist in cleaning of emergency spills. Keep assigned equipment/carts clean and neat. Perform other tasks as assigned/requested. Perform other related duties as assigned by manager. Performs other duties as required

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent, decision-making and critical thinking skills, sound judgment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments.
  • Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system
