About The Position

Under the supervision of the EVS shift supervisor, this position is responsible for daily cleaning of patient rooms, offices, restrooms, clinics, lobbies, and other ancillary spaces in the medical center in accordance with Environmental Services infection control practices and regulatory standards. The EVS Tech provides services to ensure the facility is aesthetically and hygienically clean and acceptable for our patients, families, staff and guests. Valley Children’s Healthcare is one of the largest pediatric healthcare networks in the nation, providing high-quality, comprehensive care exclusively for children in Central California, from before birth to young adulthood. With more than 670 physicians and 3,500 staff, Valley Children’s delivers care to over 1.3 million children in its service area. The network offers highly specialized medical and surgical services for conditions ranging from common to highly complex at its 358-bed stand-alone children’s hospital, which includes 28 regional NICU beds. Services extend from a leading pediatric cancer and blood disorders center and a pediatric heart center known for expertise and pioneering treatments, to a Regional Level IV neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), the highest level referral center between Los Angeles and the Bay Area. The organization also participates in and supports community initiatives.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write legibly, understand, and follow oral instruction.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with department staff, hospital employees, physicians, patients and public, and work independently using good judgment and common sense.
  • Must be able to apply disinfection cleaning practice as acquired through training.
  • Good customer/patient relations skills.
  • Must be able to handle cleaning chemicals when in use and secure from public contact.
  • Must be able protect confidential patient information.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum two (2) years Housekeeping experience in healthcare or hospitality
  • Minimum three (3) years Frontline customer experience
  • Bilingual Skills
