What You’ll Do Environmental Services Tech - Operating Room Essential responsibilities : Perform terminal and between-case cleaning of operating rooms following established infection prevention standards. Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces, surgical tables, equipment surfaces, floors, lights, booms, and fixtures. Remove waste, linen, and biohazard materials in compliance with hospital safety and regulatory guidelines. Restock supplies such as sharps containers, biohazard bags, hand sanitizer, and cleaning materials as needed. Prepare rooms promptly to support efficient patient flow and reduce surgical delays. Conducts routine core cleaning to include surgical sinks, nurses' station, locker rooms, and lounge area. Assists in completing end-of-the-day checks of operating rooms. Safely operate floor scrubbers, UV cleaning equipment, and other environmental services tools. Follow all OSHA, Joint Commission, AORN, and hospital safety protocols. Communicate effectively with OR staff, including nurses, surgical techs, anesthesia teams, and Environmental Services Technicians, to coordinate room readiness. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Education - High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience - One year in environmental services, housekeeping, or a healthcare setting preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Able to follow detailed instructions and standardized processes, able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs., and stand or walk for extended periods, basic knowledge of infection prevention and cleaning procedures (training provided), competency in basic computer skills, and competency in verbal and written communication. Requirements
