About The Position

Maryland Masonic Homes (MMH), a premier continuing care retirement community located in northern Baltimore County has an exciting opportunity for a Part-Time24 (3 days a week included every other weekend) EVS Aide! MMH provides quality care in independent, assisted living, and healthcare; and is now a proud participant of the Medicare program. The EVS/Laundry Aide will work under the Director of Environmental Services to provide quality customer service that leaves a lasting impression on those we serve. Essential Duties/Major Accountabilities : Maintain a clean and sanitary environment by following infection control procedures. Clean residents room, apartments, bathrooms, employee areas, offices, etc. Sweep, mop, wipe down all counter tops and sanitize using the proper chemicals in all assigned areas, for example, residents room, bathrooms, offices, public areas, etc. Keep utility storage rooms in good order by arranging supplies neatly and sweeping and mopping the floor. Care for cleaning equipment. Makes sure all of the equipment that is used to perform daily activities is clean. Perform work in the laundry room if assigned. Participate in in-service training, follow the Fire Plan, and abide by the Patients Bill of Rights and the Maryland Masonic Homes policies and procedures. Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public. Must be knowledgeable of laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care. Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc. that are necessary for providing quality care. Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents. Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies. Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing housekeeping practices. Must be able to meet the standards of the MMH STARS Customer Service Program. Physical Requirements: Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday. Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position. Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met. Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds, and push, pull and move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents. Slip Resistant Shoes are required. Sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours. Duties require bending, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting daily. Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times, hostile people within the facility. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
