Inspector/Sorter is responsible for monitoring, recording, and verifying product, equipment, and environmental criteria at designated points throughout the production process. This position plays a critical role in food safety by monitoring Critical Control Points (CCPs) and ensuring compliance with HACCP plans, regulatory requirements, and Tyson policies and procedures in a fresh food manufacturing environment. Places product in designated areas determined by management. Mirror Trimmer The Mirror Trimmer inspects product as it passes on the shackle line, trimming to remove any matter. Removes product from the shackle line and places on hang back racks adjacent to their workstation for later processing as needed. Removes limbs that have been marked by USDA and management. Trims away other undesirable matter from finished product. Backup Rehanger Rehanger hangs any birds not properly transferred from the initial lines to the eviscerating lines by the auto transfer machines and looks for Product to ensure it is placed properly on the line. Utility Laborer The Utility Laborer is responsible for maintaining continuous product flow and supporting production operations in a fresh food manufacturing environment. This position relieves Team Members for breaks, fills in during labor shortages, and performs a variety of production support tasks while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to all Tyson policies, food safety standards, and procedures. Utility Laborer Key Responsibilities Maintain continuous product flow on production lines to support efficiency and throughput Relieve Team Members on the production line for breaks, lunches, and absences Fill in for open positions during labor shortages to ensure uninterrupted operations Perform multiple production tasks as assigned, including but not limited to packing, sorting, staging, and material handling Assist with product movement between production areas to prevent downtime or congestion Monitor work areas to ensure product quality, food safety, and sanitation standards are met Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to fresh product handling Assist supervisors by responding quickly to changing production needs Identify and report safety hazards, equipment issues, or product concerns immediately Maintain cleanliness and organization of production areas, tools, and equipment Comply with all Tyson policies, OSHA regulations, USDA requirements, and food safety guidelines Perform other duties as assigned to support production and operational goals Fresh Plant Environment Expectations Work directly with raw and fresh products in a temperature-controlled environment Strict adherence to hygiene, sanitation, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements Compliance with food safety, quality, and contamination prevention practices Ability to adapt quickly to changing line assignments and production priorities
