ATS is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Evidence Warehouse Technician to support its Forensics Department. This role involves managing the receipt, handling, storage, and disposition of evidence and property in strict accordance with established policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and prioritization skills, ensure compliance with chain-of-custody requirements, and maintain a clean, secure, and efficient work environment. The position demands a high level of integrity, professionalism, and the ability to responsibly handle confidential information.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in warehouse, property, or inventory management.
  • Knowledge of equipment, procedures, and documentation standards related to warehouse management.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, changing environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and able to learn new software systems quickly.
  • Ability to lift and transfer up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Occasional travel (5%–30%) required.
  • Must obtain within 6 months of hire and maintain CMV Certification (U.S. DOT Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration).
  • Must obtain within 6 months of hire and maintain Forklift Operator Certification.
  • Valid Georgia Driver’s License required.
  • Must be a "U.S. Person" (U.S. citizens or nationals; U.S. lawful permanent residents; persons granted refugee status; or persons granted asylum in the United States) due to U.S. export controls under the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations ("ITAR").

Nice To Haves

  • A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the maintenance and handling of evidence, including receipt, barcoding, storage, return, destruction, and inventory in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Ensure proper chain-of-custody documentation for all evidence and property transactions.
  • Photograph evidence during intake and maintain accurate visual documentation.
  • Prepare and coordinate the transportation of evidence to and from testing laboratories.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and operational evidence processing equipment and vehicles.
  • Provide departmental support during inspections, audits, and investigations.
  • Train and update staff on evidence handling best practices and department protocols.
  • Coordinate and organize evidence destruction events and maintain associated records.
  • Conduct monthly vehicle maintenance inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Serve in an on-call capacity for after-hours response as needed.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and protected information responsibly and in compliance with laws and policies.
  • Establish and maintain effective systems for tracking evidence management activities and invoice approvals.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working safely and following best practices and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
