About The Position

The Events Worker is a part-time/intermittent position that assists in the logistical management of corporate and public events. Essential Functions: As defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, this classification may include any of the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. Requirements

  • Any combination of training, education, and experience which demonstrates the minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Qualifying education and experience must be clearly documented in the "Education" and "Work Experience" sections of the application.
  • Valid driver license is required at time of application.
  • Valid AZ driver license is required at time of appointment.
  • The successful applicant will be subject to a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review to determine applicant’s suitability to operate county vehicles in accordance with Pima County administrative procedures.
  • Current first aid and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification (American Red Cross or equivalent) must be acquired prior to completion of initial training.
  • Some positions are required to have a Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Failure to obtain/maintain the required licensure/certification/registration shall be grounds for termination.
  • The County requires pre-employment background checks.
  • Successful candidates will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening to include verification of work history, education, and criminal conviction history.
  • This position will require a post-job offer physical and/or drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in varied settings including events, leagues, tournaments, and community activities with crowds of varying sizes.
  • Experience setting up and tearing down events, leagues, tournaments, and/or community activities.
  • Experience in customer service, problem-solving, and working directly (face-to-face) with customers.
  • Experience in general clean up including restrooms, trash removal, walkways, and equipment set up/tear down.
  • Experience working outside in extreme heat, humidity, dust, and cold weather.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors events at the facility to assist with any needs of the clients and participants
  • Welcomes guests into the complex, watching for contraband
  • Maintains the complexes and fields to major league standards
  • Performs grounds maintenance
  • Performs end of event closing tasks
  • Performs administrative duties
