About The Position

The College of Information Sciences and Technology (IST) invites applications for an Events Supervisor reporting to the Chief of Staff and Business Administrator. This position leads the College’s Events Office, overseeing the planning and execution of a comprehensive portfolio of college-wide events and supervising a team responsible for delivering high-quality, strategically aligned programming throughout the year.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
  • Commitment to creating inclusive, accessible, and welcoming event experiences
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-service mindset
  • Demonstrated experience supervising and leading a team, including assigning work, setting expectations, and supporting staff development
  • Consistently positive and professional approach, with a focus on collaboration and maintaining strong, productive relationships across all units in the college

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and develop the Events Office team, including assigning work, setting priorities, and ensuring high-quality execution across all events
  • Collaborate with various units within the college to plan, coordinate, and implement an array of events, including college-wide town halls, spring commencement, Fall Career Fair, Faculty and Staff Awards Ceremony, Alumni Symposium, Be You in Tech Summit, IST Insiders, special initiatives of the Dean, and community-building events that enhance engagement among faculty, staff, and students
  • Provide guidance and consultation to faculty and staff on event planning, including logistics, timelines, resource allocation, budgeting, vendor coordination, and alignment with college and university policies and priorities
  • Collaborate with key partners across the college, including the Facilities, Marketing and Communications, and Information Technology teams, to coordinate event logistics and execution
  • Manage vendor relationships, including negotiating contracts for venues and catering, and overseeing room reservations and scheduling processes
  • Evaluate event effectiveness through data, feedback, and outcomes; identify opportunities for improvement and implement strategic enhancements to future programming
  • Develop and communicate policies, procedures, and best practices for event planning across the college
