About The Position

Bessemer Trust, a leading multi-family office, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Event Manager to manage overall guest experience at our events. The Event Manager will be a member of the Bessemer Trust 15-member Marketing & Client Engagement Department, which is responsible for delivering the Bessemer Trust brand to existing and prospective clients, and centers of influence (COI) across multiple channels. As one of the largest privately owned wealth management firms in the United States, Bessemer Trust oversees over $200 billion in assets for over 3,000 wealthy families and individuals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with ~10 years of full-time corporate event management experience; experience within the financial services or wealth management industry is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrates a highly collaborative approach to event planning, supported by a strong understanding of the business, key stakeholders, and external partners, ensuring events are strategically aligned and thoughtfully executed.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing Zoom meetings and webinars; proficiency is required.
  • Strong proficiency with Cvent and Salesforce is highly preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hotel and event contracting practices, including negotiating.
  • Willingness and ability to work extended hours as business needs require.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage approximately 125 events annually across the U.S., ranging in size from 15 to 500 attendees, including clients, prospective clients, and centers of influence (COIs).
  • Utilize Cvent, Salesforce, and Zoom as core tools for event planning, registration, tracking, and execution; proficiency is required.
  • Be aligned with key stakeholders, business objectives, and audience expectations.
  • Partner with colleagues to support the planning, development, and execution of a wide range of events, including conferences, breakfasts, luncheons, cocktail receptions, dinners, sporting events, and sponsorships.
  • Manage events delivered across both in-person and virtual platforms, including Zoom meetings and webinars.
  • Source and evaluate appropriate venues; negotiate contracts with hotels and third-party vendors, including food and beverage, guest rooms, décor, audio-visual, entertainment, and transportation.
  • Review and approve banquet event orders (BEOs), ensuring accuracy and alignment with event objectives and standards.
  • Develop and maintain detailed event budgets; proactively identify and implement cost-control and cost-reduction strategies.
  • Oversee the end-to-end invitation process, including content development, proofreading, design coordination, and delivery.
  • Collaborate with a flexible event support team of approximately 10 cross-functional Bessemer employees to ensure consistent execution and adherence to Bessemer’s brand standards.
  • Travel to and attend select regional and national events to support on-site execution and stakeholder engagement.
  • Stay current on hospitality, travel, and trends.
