About The Position

The Events Manager is responsible for planning and executing a portfolio of fundraising, community, and organizational events that support the mission of Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta. This role works in close collaboration with teams across the organization, including Marketing, Fund Development, Executive, and Girl Programming, and focuses on delivering high-quality events that drive donor engagement, community participation, public support, and revenue growth. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented project manager and relationship builder who can manage multiple events simultaneously while ensuring a seamless experience for internal partners, attendees, sponsors, and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of event planning or project management experience (nonprofit experience preferred)
  • Budget management experience
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with event management or CRM systems preferred (Salesforce, Virtuous, or similar)
  • Must successfully complete a criminal, motor vehicle, and credit background check.

  • Experience supporting fundraising events or working with sponsors is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Event Planning & Execution In close collaboration with internal partners across the organization, plan, manage, and execute a range of events, including signature fundraising events, board and governance gatherings, the annual meeting, and other events, as needed.
  • Manage all phases of logistical and operational event planning from concept through post-event evaluation.
  • Oversee event logistics, including coordination of invitations, venue selection, vendor coordination, run-of-show, catering, and audio-visual details, based on the needs and goals of the internal department/event sponsor.
  • Ensure smooth on-site event execution.
  • Stakeholder Coordination Drive collaboration with internal teams and event owners to identify goals and objectives for each event, establish timelines and deliverables, and promote and execute events.
  • Schedule, facilitate, and drive follow-up for event planning meetings.
  • Coordinate with volunteers, committees, employees, and board members/committees to drive engagement and support for events.
  • Serve as a point of contact for internal and external inquiries related to events.
  • Fundraising & Sponsorship Support Support the identification, outreach, and coordination of corporate sponsors and event donors, including close collaboration on the inclusion of sponsor recognition in event materials Assist the Fund Development team with securing auction items and in-kind donations for events.
  • Help implement strategies to meet event-related fundraising goals.
  • Budget & Vendor Management Develop and manage event budgets, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Coordinate and negotiate with vendors and venues to ensure quality service, timely delivery, and value.
  • Act as the point of contact for event vendor management, ensuring compliance with and completion of event-related deliverables.
  • Maintain organized records of contracts, invoices, and event expenses.
  • Marketing & Attendee Experience Partner with Marketing to support event communications, invitations, and materials.
  • Collaborate with internal event owners to manage and track attendee registration and communication before and after events.
  • Help ensure a positive and engaging experience for all participants.
  • Event Evaluation & Improvement Assist with post-event evaluations, including tracking attendance, revenue, and feedback, and achievement of event goals and objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and support the implementation of changes.
  • Risk & Safety Support the implementation of safety and emergency plans for events.
  • Ensure compliance with all organizational policies and event procedures.
