About The Position

Career Services (CS) at Arizona State University seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Management Intern for Events (MI). The MI will assist the Career Services team in planning and executing employer events, career fairs and other career related events. The MI will work closely with the Program Manager and Events Coordinator to ensure events are well-organized and run smoothly, providing support in various capacities as needed. Additionally, the intern will engage with students and alumni, collaborate with on-campus departments, student organizations, and affinity groups, and assist in the development of professional and career readiness through events. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and possesses strong communication skills. They can manage multiple tasks efficiently and work both independently and collaboratively. The candidate thrives in innovative, diverse, and evolving environments. Experience in event planning and marketing is highly desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms, along with a customer-service oriented mindset, is essential. Career Services serves students and recent grads virtually, in the office and at events during the timeframe of Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Additional opportunities are available to assist with division wide, and ASU, initiatives such as Fall Welcome, Family Weekend and Homecoming. A specific work schedule will be arranged with supervisor upon hire for 20 hours per week. This position is primarily based on ASU’s Tempe Campus. This position requires occasional travel to different ASU campuses for above essential duties. This Internship program is a short term-position of a 12-month experience or less. An additional one-year extension may be offered contingent upon an annual review. Candidate is required to be enrolled in a Graduate Program during the duration of employment and continuation of employment will be based on enrollment in a Graduate Program.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and two-years (2) experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
  • Must be enrolled in a Graduate Program during the course of employment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms
  • Customer-service oriented mindset

Nice To Haves

  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s program at ASU.
  • Experience in event planning, coordination, or related activities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet overlapping deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Career Services team in planning, coordinating, and executing career fairs and other Career Services events.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop event timelines, logistics, and checklists.
  • Support the promotion of events through various communication channels, including email, social media, and campus announcements alongside CS Marketing.
  • Manage event registrations, track attendance, and compile feedback for post-event analysis.
  • Help set up and break down event spaces, ensuring all necessary materials and equipment are available and functional.
  • Serve as a representative for vendors, campus partners, and other stakeholders to coordinate event details.
  • Provide on-site support during events, including welcoming attendees, managing check-ins, and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Assist in creating marketing materials, such as flyers, brochures, and digital content, to promote events.
  • Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions to generate new ideas for event improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Career Services leadership.
