The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James) and The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center seeks a collaborative, mission-driven Events Associate. The Events Associate serves as a member of The OSUCCC - James and OSUWMC fundraising team and assists in the development and implementation of long- and short-term plans to secure fundraising support from grateful patients and families, friends, volunteers, corporations and other entities via third party events and initiatives in support of the mission, objectives and priorities as set by the medical center leadership and Associate Director, Event Management. In addition, the Events Associate will oversee and manage select internal fundraising events and support Signature Events team members as needed. The aim of this role is to work in partnership with the development team to raise money and awareness for OSUWMC/James initiatives and programs. The Events Associate manages a portfolio of Community Partners and institutional fundraising events, collaborates with the marketing department for event print communication, promotional product and media needs including website content updates; coordinates with stewardship officer for donor relations. The Events Associate reports to the Manager, Event Management and is expected to have strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work independently and with a team, be resourceful and a self-starter, have strong organizational and computer skills, including demonstrated software and data management skills, the ability to travel and work a flexible schedule, including overnight travel, evenings and weekends, and provide high-level/ professional customer service.
