About The Position

The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) seeks an entrepreneurial, highly organized, and strategic leader to oversee the business of TAG’s premier events and conferences. This role focuses on driving revenue, retention, engagement, and growth across TAG’s most visible and impactful experiences, including: Georgia Technology Summit TAGit Golf Tournament featuring the Global Innovation Cup Fintech South AI Summit TAG Gala C-Level and Executive Events The ideal candidate is not an event producer, but a business-minded architect of experiences—someone who can cultivate sponsors, speakers, partners, and audiences while ensuring that every event remains financially successful, creatively fresh, and aligned with TAG’s mission to connect, promote, influence, and educate Georgia’s technology ecosystem.

Requirements

  • 8–10+ years of experience in event, conference, or experiential business management, preferably within associations, technology, or innovation sectors.
  • Proven success in driving event revenue, managing sponsorships, and achieving growth goals.
  • Strong understanding of event economics, financial reporting, and ROI-based decision-making.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple large-scale initiatives concurrently.
  • Demonstrated creativity and innovation in event programming, content curation, and audience engagement.
  • Experience managing vendors and third-party production firms.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills with C-level executives and sponsors.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work within limited budgets and maximize impact.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute annual and multi-year business strategies for TAG’s events portfolio to meet financial, membership, and engagement goals.
  • Identify opportunities to grow event revenue through sponsorships, partnerships, ticketing, and new experiential formats.
  • Lead cross-functional teams (staff, contractors, volunteers) to ensure a balanced approach to innovation, brand consistency, and profitability and to deliver high-quality experiences on time and on budget.
  • Work with internal teams and external vendors to ensure a balanced approach to innovation, brand consistency, and profitability.
  • Collaborate with TAG’s senior leadership, councils, and marketing team to align event strategies with organizational priorities and audience growth targets.
  • Contribute to TAG’s overall strategic direction and participate in organization-wide leadership initiatives.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and creativity in representing TAG to external stakeholders and partners.
  • Partner with the TAG sales team to design creative, high-value sponsorship packages and activations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with corporate sponsors, exhibitors, and community partners.
  • Oversee sponsor fulfillment and ensure measurable ROI for TAG and partners alike.
  • Create thoughtful event themes and session topics that are relevant to the technology industry.
  • Lead the creative visioning process for each major event, ensuring content, design, and networking experiences are contemporary and differentiated.
  • Explore new event models—both live and hybrid—that increase accessibility, impact, and engagement across local, regional, national, and international audiences.
  • Curate compelling speaker lineups, award programs, and unique attendee experiences that position TAG as a thought leader and convener of innovation.
  • Source, negotiate, and manage event production vendors, agencies, and consultants.
  • Oversee budgets and financial models for each event, ensuring strong fiscal control and maximum return on investment.
  • Monitor performance metrics, expense ratios, and post-event analysis to inform continuous improvement.
