About The Position

5 STAR Event Services is looking for fun and safety people to join their guest services team for upcoming sports & music events for permanent PART TIME, hourly employment. Event Staff and Security Officers are responsible for the safety and comfort of all clients, guests and other employees. 5 STAR Event Services is a specialty Event Security/Staff provider specializing in the sports and entertainment industries. Since 2000, their security officers, and event staff personnel have delivered industry leading service to fans at more than 42,000 events in Houston, Austin, and San Antonio, Texas. Their clients include MLS & NWSL Soccer, NCAA Football, NASCAR, Formula 1, MotoGP, AHL Hockey, G League Basketball, stadiums, arenas, theaters, symphonies, festivals, conventions, and more.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Reliable forms of communication and transportation
  • LEVEL 2 SECURITY LICENSE (Level II Training & Exam provided for free. All applicants are required to apply, pass exam, submit to fingerprinting, and criminal background check.)
  • A strong customer-service attitude and professional appearance
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
  • The ability to understand and interpret credentials, documents, signs, rules, policies, and instructions
  • The ability to communicate effectively with clients, patrons and other employees
  • The ability to multi-task, cross-train and learn new skills quickly
  • The ability to remain calm and level-headed under high-pressure situations

Responsibilities

  • Enforce and uphold the integrity of public and private areas of the job location
  • Monitor entry and exit points to specific areas
  • Perform routine search/inspection procedures including bag checks and screening of guests and their tickets, credentials, etc. prior to guest entry to ensure that no prohibited items enter
  • Greet and direct guests to seating areas and various services
  • Maintain open and smooth access routes of patron/vehicle walkways
  • Receive and act on complaints from patrons according to policies and procedures
  • Enforce all policies and procedures throughout the facility and report any suspicious behaviors or activity
  • Aide in the direction of orderly evacuation of the building during emergencies
  • Provide security escorts per event requirements
