About The Position

Ashbourne Farms is looking for Event Servers to join our hospitality and food & beverage service team. This is a great opportunity for part-time work or moonlighting for a talented server looking provide high quality service to our guests. Ashbourne Farms is located just outside of Louisville, KY in scenic LaGrange, KY and hosts a myriad of events such as weddings, corporate outings, concerts and shows, and private events throughout the year. At Ashbourne, our servers and staff are expected to provide a gracious, well-crafted guest service that creates memorable dining and event experiences for every visitor to Ashbourne Farms. This role anticipates guest needs, delivers exceptional customer service, and delivers refined food and beverage service with care and precision. Through polished presentation, fine dining service expertise, and thoughtful preparation, the Server supports an atmosphere of genuine hospitality, upscale service, and exceptional service. What you can expect: Working hours are based on event schedule throughout the year including nights, weekends and holidays, with event shifts typically ranging from 6-10 hours Frequency of events fluctuates throughout the year based on scheduling and seasons Pay starting at $17.00 per hour, with experience Superior quality work environment and exceptional guest and employee experiences

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in food service, hospitality, or event catering is required, with experience in fine dining or upscale events being strongly preferred
  • Has a passion for delivering exceptional guest services and experiences
  • Thrives in a team-oriented, collaborative event environment
  • Demonstrates adaptable guest-facing communication skills
  • Shows strong attention to detail, reliability, and professionalism
  • Is energized by fast-paced, high-volume, and event-based service
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 6–10 hours per shift)
  • Ability to frequently carry, push, pull, and lift items weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to frequently reach, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and twist throughout the shift
  • Ability to use hands and arms repetitively for carrying trays, serving food and beverages
  • Ability to maintain balance and coordination while carrying items in crowded or fast-paced environments
  • Ability to communicate clearly with guests and coworkers in a noisy environment
  • Exposure to hot surfaces, steam, open flames, and wet or slippery floors
  • May include outdoor service with exposure to varying weather conditions
  • Requires the use of non-slip footwear and adherence to safety and food service guidelines

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications and training in hospitality, food service, or related fields are desired, but not required
  • High school students may be considered for specific events with no prior experience

Responsibilities

  • Execute synchronized fine dining and event service techniques with expertise in culinary and beverage offerings, tableside service, beverage service, and food presentation.
  • Proactively anticipate and meet guests' needs and preferences to ensure flawless and memorable experiences.
  • Interact with guests courteously and respectfully, demonstrating strong communication skills, poise, and professionalism while representing Ashbourne Farms’ hospitality standards.
  • Maintain a polished appearance, adhering to uniform standards, grooming expectations, and fine dining service etiquette.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in fine dining etiquette, including proper utensil placement and usage, elegant tableside service techniques, and an in-depth understanding of menu offerings to provide exceptional dining experiences.
  • Handle pre- and post-event responsibilities such as inventory maintenance and placement, polishing flatware, preparing tea and coffee service materials, and spot cleaning.
