About The Position

The Williamsburg Hotel is a lifestyle boutique hotel located in the middle of the action and on the stoop of local hotspots, from entertainment to culture. We are looking for an Event Sales Manager to oversee private events and sales.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-4 years of working experience in events, preferably in Hotel event sales and management
  • Prior experience managing a team of full-time employees
  • Computer skills- Word and basic Excel. Delphi & Allseated preferred. Training for Delphi and Allseated will be available
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
  • Hospitable demeanor
  • Self-starter, fast learner, and entrepreneurial passion
  • Understanding of Williamsburg or NYC market a must

Responsibilities

  • Contract, detail and liaise on all aspects of an event in all private spaces
  • Handle event inquiries within a timely manner-social, corporate, non-profit, etc.
  • Proactively prospect and network with meeting planners for new corporate and social events on property
  • Conduct site inspections and outside sales calls goals on a weekly basis
  • Understand menu pricing, room layouts, and AV requirements for all types of meetings and events
  • Create SMART sales action plans on finding and seeking new business
  • Create floorplans through Allseated
  • Administrate contracts, banquet event orders, for all catering/special events
  • Track and receive all deposits for upcoming events
  • Attend necessary trade shows in the event planning industry
  • Assist with promoting, selling, and managing private event rentals
  • Generate and execute processes for event booking
  • Maintain brand identity throughout programming and coordination
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver an appropriate level of detail based on audience in a timely manner
  • Confidence in managing clients efficiently, understanding their needs and actively qualifying every lead
  • To have excellent professional demeanor in working with prospective and current clients
  • Oversee the sales and operations of private meetings and events
  • Generate reports and evaluate sales with
  • Assist in creating and maintaining operational standards
  • Work with Marketing on initiatives to generate leads
  • Manage relationships with preferred event vendors
  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends and propose revenue-generating initiatives
  • Establish and foster new relationships that drive desks sales and increase brand awareness for the property
  • Attend any meetings or training sessions or courses as required
  • Assist fellow employees to perform similar or related jobs as and when necessary
  • Continuously seek out opportunities to learn and improve the knowledge of the job
  • Undertake any reasonable request made by a member of management
  • Achieve set Key Performance Objectives and Indicators and complete all other duties, tasks and projects as required
  • Ensure booking processes and actions are followed in-line with company standards
