Event Runner (Part Time on Call)

About The Position

This position is Part Time on Call based on scheduled events. Must have reliable vehicle to use for work and be able to be insured under District. NATURE OF WORK: Event Runners play a critical role in supporting backstage operations during live events, concerts, festivals, and performance days.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in live events, hospitality, or production support preferred.
  • Prior experience working directly with artists, musicians, tour management, or backstage production teams.
  • Candidates must be at least 21 years old to be considered for this position.
  • Exceptional customer service.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work long or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Comfortable lifting, carrying, and transporting items of varying sizes (typically up to 25–50 lbs.).
  • Strong knowledge of Spokane-area locations, including major hotels, venues, restaurants, grocery stores, and essential services, to efficiently support artist and production's needs.
  • Passion for the theatre, concerts, comedy, and arts.
  • Ability to effectively work under the pressure of deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Display a high level of professionalism, discretion, and courtesy when interacting with artists, musicians, tour management, VIP’s, and guests, preserving a positive and welcoming backstage environment.
  • Shuttle event staff, crew members, and talent between designated locations, including parking areas, hotels, and venue access points.
  • Serves as a reliable, respectful point of contact for talent and tour personnel, responding promptly to requests and maintaining confidentiality as required.
  • Pick up and deliver goods, supplies, meals, equipment, and other essential items as requested by production or stage management.
  • Run items to and from backstage, dressing rooms, green rooms, and other operational areas during rehearsals and live performances.
  • Assist with general back-of-house logistics, including organizing supplies, maintaining cleanliness in work areas, and supporting quick-turn needs.
  • Communicate clearly with production teams to ensure timely completion of tasks and accurate delivery of items.
  • Maintain a professional, calm, and efficient presence in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Follow all venue safety protocols, traffic rules, and backstage access procedures.
  • Operate company or rental vehicles safely and responsibly.
  • Represent the organization positively at all times through courteous communication, situational awareness, and adhere to professional standards while on duty.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
  • Performs related work as assigned.
