About The Position

Leidos is seeking a detail-oriented Event Planner to be responsible for coordinating, planning, organizing, and execution of internal and external events (conferences, depositions, closed commission meetings, staff meetings, social events, etc.). Duties may include ensuring that all events run within scope, time, and meet customer requirements. The Event Planner will work in a pivotal role delivering seamless, high-impact events that support the agency’s goals and elevate client satisfaction. Operating both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic, fast-paced environment, this role requires exceptional organizational skills, proactive communication, and a customer-first mindset. The event planner will serve as the primary liaison between internal teams and external clients, ensuring all logistical elements—from materials and equipment to staffing and venue coordination—are executed with precision and professionalism to ensure high customer satisfaction of event outcomes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and 2-4 years of prior customer service experience.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management abilities.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Marketing, Communications, or related field and experience with event planning/management, preferred.
  • Event planning experience for Federal Government customers is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive scheduling and presentation of planned events to customers and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with customers and vendors to ensure smooth event setup, delivery, and post-event activities.
  • Generate regular reports and satisfaction surveys, demonstrating completion of litigation and deposition-related events.
  • Document and communicate event readiness checklists and status reports prior to execution.
  • Travel to support offsite FTC Events (local), conduct site visits when necessary and provide feedback to the planning team of the pros and cons of potential event sites.
  • Works independently with customer to obtain information on desired event outcomes and leads to planning and delivery of all events activity that encompasses small and large-scale events.
  • Work with FTC staff to determine event needs; participate in conference calls and/or face-to-face meetings as required, resulting in clearly communicated tasks and milestones for those involved.
  • Provide assistance with setting up and starting virtual meetings using applications such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.
  • Help coordinate internal marketing communications and promotional materials in collaboration with FTC communications staff.
  • Maintain a centralized calendar of upcoming events, deadlines, and resource allocations for cross-team visibility.
