Position Overview The Event Operations Assistant Vice President supports the strategy, planning, and delivery of mid- to large-scale events and initiatives for Morgan Stanley at Work, including the annual Thrive Conference, Thrive Regional Forums, and select internal and industry meetings. This role partners with internal stakeholders across Morgan Stanley at Work, Event Management, and Marketing to coordinate end-to-end execution, manage content development workflows, and ensure timelines, approvals, and deliverables are met. The ideal candidate is a clear and confident communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, builds strong cross-functional relationships, and demonstrates sound judgment, resilience, and a solutions-oriented mindset. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in event operations, event planning, communications, learning/program delivery, or a related field within a corporate environment.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, including comfort working with senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage timelines, multiple workstreams, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven relationship-building skills across levels and functions.
  • High attention to detail with strong follow-up and execution discipline.
  • Demonstrates integrity, tact, diplomacy, confidentiality, and a commitment to company values and professional standards.

Responsibilities

  • Event execution & operations Run, manage, and deliver client events of varying sizes in coordination with the Event Management team.
  • Partner with internal teams and vendors to ensure operational readiness, including run-of-show inputs, staffing, and onsite execution.
  • Oversee all logistical aspects of events, including venue management, vendor contracting, production, transportation, staffing, technology, and on-site execution
  • Continually review event operating models and processes to ensure consistent execution aligned with Morgan Stanley at Work business goals.
  • Content development and speaker support Create and support communication strategies for speakers, including key messages, scripts, and talking points.
  • Guide internal and external speakers through content development and preparation, ensuring deadlines and requirements are understood and met.
  • Manage the approval process for all speaker materials (presentations, handouts, flyers, and scripts), including version control and final readiness.
  • Timeline and stakeholder management Create, maintain, and enforce a content timeline to ensure deliverables are received and finalized on schedule and aligned to conference goals, brand messaging, and target audience.
  • Curate session topics, identify potential speakers in partnership with stakeholders, and manage speaker communications and submissions.
  • Collaborate across Morgan Stanley at Work stakeholders to deliver programs that contribute to business health and event success.
  • Ensure events are delivered on time, within scope, and within approved budgets based on managed timelines, project plans and playbooks.
  • Marketing collaboration Partner with Marketing to support promotional content development (digital materials, social media posts, email campaigns) aligned to event milestones.
