About The Position

TALLADEGA SUPERSPEEDWAY Talladega Superspeedway was created as a palace of speed in 1969 by NASCAR founder Bill France, Sr., who coined it “the Greatest Race Track in the World.” At a mammoth 2.66-miles with 33 degrees of banking in the turns, it is NASCAR’s Most Competitive venue. The “Fun” track prides itself on being family friendly, especially with the introduction of the Talladega Garage Experience in 2019 where guests are immersed into motorsports like never before. The host of two major NASCAR weekends a year, the iconic ribbon of asphalt is easy accessible off I-20, located between Birmingham, AL, and Atlanta, GA. The Event Marketing & Partnership Services Associate will be responsible for a variety of tasks within both departments. These include but are not limited to managing and assisting with media, grassroots marketing, creative requests, planning & implementing special programming, partner relationships, etc.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing or Sports Management.
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • A strong work ethic and willingness to learn and understand NASCAR brand requirements and protocols, as well as sales systems, databases, and partnership management/activation.
  • A team player who is committed to the success of the events.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in multiple computer programs (Adobe, Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, etc.).
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Willingness to learn and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Desire to engage with fans and oversee data cultivation at offsite events.
  • Ability to lift over 50 lbs.
  • Proficient on Company-provided hardware and software.
  • Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions for extended periods.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the track location.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with management of radio promotions, including providing promotional assets, requesting tickets, scheduling interviews, etc.
  • Establish, maintain, and grow relationships with advertising and media partners
  • Assist in managing Grassroots events, including selecting events, scheduling staff, and attending events
  • Manage creative requests for a variety of Marketing initiatives
  • Work with Consumer, Group, and Corporate Sales teams to assist with determining and implementing Marketing strategy
  • Provide support for Kids VIP Experience program during race weekend
  • Other duties as assigned within the Marketing department, and to assist with other departments as needed
  • Assist in managing a minority of hospitality accounts during major events
  • Pre-event planning and day of execution of the STEM Day Program
  • Manage details of client communication pieces, including hospitality guides, letters, menus, etc.
  • Provide support to the Hospitality team as needed
  • Support all aspects of the fulfillment process including inventory layouts and contract management
  • Attend pre/post event site walkthroughs & planning meetings
  • Assist with special projects as assigned
