About The Position

The Jefferson Hotel is seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven Events Manager to support both Events and Group Sales programs. This role is responsible for managing events from initial inquiry through execution while also driving revenue through proactive sales efforts, client relationship building, and closing business in a competitive market. The ideal candidate understands how to position the hotel as a differentiated choice and is motivated to convert opportunities into confirmed business. This is a salaried, exempt position. The schedule may occasionally require work beyond 40 hours per week, including evenings and weekends, to support business or event needs.

Requirements

  • Flexible schedule required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs. This position will require more than 40 hours per week to meet business demands
  • Minimum of 2 years of hotel experience required; event planning, sales, or Food & Beverage experience strongly preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members
  • Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Delphi, Infor, or Social Tables preferred
  • Experience in event planning, hospitality, or related field required
  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high level of service
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 20 pounds with both hands as needed
  • Ability to stand and walk for several hours
  • Sales-minded with the ability to confidently close business
  • Organized and detail-oriented with strong follow-through
  • Professional and composed in a fast-paced environment

  • Associate’s degree or higher preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage event inquiries, proposals, bookings, and contracts for Events and Group Sales business
  • Actively drive revenue by identifying opportunities, upselling services, and closing business
  • Plan and execute events from initial contact through post-event follow-up
  • Create and distribute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and event resumes with a high level of accuracy
  • Coordinate group room blocks, including inventory, cut-off dates, and billing arrangements
  • Partner with Sales and Revenue teams to maximize space utilization and overall profitability
  • Serve as the primary contact for clients, ensuring a seamless experience from booking through execution
  • Meet and greet clients and groups on-site to oversee event details and ensure satisfaction
  • Review billing and follow proper accounting procedures prior to finalizing invoices
  • Maintain organized and detailed records for all bookings and events
  • Build and maintain client relationships to encourage repeat and referral business
