About The Position

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Event Manager to join our team. In this role, you will oversee and lead front-of-house (FOH) operations and ensure a seamless audience experience throughout for a global esports tournament. Your primary responsibility as the Event Manager, will be managing FOH activities at the venue. This role includes both the advance planning and the on-site execution of the event, ensuring that all audience-facing operations are thoughtfully prepared in advance and delivered smoothly during live event days. You will collaborate closely with the client’s key stakeholders, including Producers, Production teams, Publishing, and Senior Leadership, to plan, coordinate, and execute all FOH elements required to support a successful event experience. The Event Manager role will be based remotely in the United States, with travel required to support Global Events. Candidates must be able to work and support Pacific Time Zone business hours. The role will report into the Service Delivery Manger – Studio Crewing Global Events. This is a temporary role, tentatively scheduled for May through mid-November.

Requirements

  • Current passport with at least 12 months validity.
  • Ability to support and work Pacific Time Zone business hours.
  • 8+ years of experience in live event management, venue operations, or front-of-house operations, preferably within esports, sports, entertainment, or large-scale live events.
  • Proven experience managing audience-facing operations at live events, including crowd flow, guest services, ticketing operations, and fan engagement.
  • Experience working with venues and third-party vendors, including managing operational partners responsible for staffing, guest services, and security.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute complex live events, managing both advance planning and on-site operations.
  • Experience managing event budgets, including forecasting, cost tracking, and post-event reconciliation.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines simultaneously.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills with experience collaborating with production teams, venue partners, vendors, and senior stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of crowd management, safety planning, and accessibility standards for live events.
  • Ability to problem-solve quickly in a fast-paced live event environment and make sound operational decisions under pressure.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently and work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays during event periods.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Front-of-House Operations - Oversee all FOH activities at the venue, ensuring smooth entry, seating, crowd flow, and overall audience experience throughout the event. Oversee audience-facing areas such as entrances, queues, seating sections, merchandise zones, fan activations, and accessibility services. Develop FOH operational plans, staffing schedules, run-of-show integration, and audience management procedures ahead of the event.
  • Audience Experience and Crowd Safety Management - Ensure fans have a positive, engaging, and safe experience by coordinating the integration of fan activations onsite. Implement crowd management plans, monitor audience flow, and coordinate with the client's security lead, venue security and safety teams to maintain a safe environment.
  • Fan Zones & Activations - Oversee fan zones and interactive areas within the venue. Collaborate with key stakeholders, including publishing, producers, and production teams, to ensure load-in schedules align with the main show timelines. Ensure queuing management plans are in place and review onsite activities for compliance with overall venue event policies daily.
  • Vendor & Partner Coordination - Collaborate with venues and FOH vendors responsible for ticketing, merchandise, fan experiences, and venue services to ensure seamless audience-facing operations. For events that require a dedicated FOH operations partner, you will be responsible for selecting and managing the vendor, ensuring appropriate staffing plans are in place and that teams are properly recruited and trained. You will oversee the venue and FOH operations partner to ensure ushers, guest services, volunteers, and security teams are effectively managed and operating efficiently during live event days.
  • Ticketing - Oversee the Ticketing Manager to ensure deadlines are met, group allocations are fulfilled, and the ticketing platform aligns with overall ticketing strategy. This includes oversight of comp ticket distribution and allocation.
  • Stakeholder Coordination - Collaborate closely with producers, production, broadcast teams, tournament operations, venue management, and publishing teams to align FOH operations with show and competition requirements.
  • Credentials - Review credential requirements and align with the security team on zone classifications. Responsible for approving, declining, and assigning credentials, as well as overseeing the production and delivery of credentials and ensuring appropriate distribution methods are in place.
  • Show Integration - Coordinate with production, producers and security teams to manage audience queues, crowd engagement/interaction moments, giveaways, and live show participation.
  • Issue Resolution - Act as the primary escalation point for audience-related issues, resolving problems quickly while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
  • Compliance & Accessibility - Ensure FOH operations comply with venue policies, safety regulations, and accessibility standards for all attendees. This may also include coordinating appropriate medical coverage, such as ensuring medical support is available for staff during the load-in period and that qualified medical personnel are on-site to support the audience during live event days.
  • Budget Management - Own and manage the budget for FOH operations, including forecasting, planning, and tracking expenses related to staffing, vendors, fan experiences, and audience services. Work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure FOH operations are delivered within budget while maintaining a high-quality fan experience. Monitor costs throughout the planning process and on-site execution, and provide post-event budget reporting and insights.
  • Data & Reporting - Track operational performance, providing post-event reports and recommendations for future improvements.
