About The Position

The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Washington DC – Crystal City is looking for an Event Manager to join their team. The DoubleTree Crystal City offers 627 guestrooms and 35,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, making it ideal for large groups. Our ideal candidate has at least one year of event management experience in a hotel environment and is familiar with supporting valued convention clients as they plan their conferences at our property. Strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask, and full flexibility are essential for success in this role. Pay Rate: This is an hourly role at $26.00 per hour with participation in the hotels quarterly incentive plan. Shift Pattern: Full Flexibility is a must. Office hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, but flexibility is essential to accommodate varying schedules, including weekends and holidays, for our convention group clients. What will I be doing? Responsible for successful execution of event and customer satisfaction to ensure customer remains loyal and books future business with hotel. Verbal and written communication (group resume, weekly pick up, post event report, call reports, banquet event orders etc.) with customer and internal team in a proactive manner relative to payment structure, room block management, food and beverage, public room rental and exhibit hall fees, incremental and affiliate revenue streams, performance damages and master billing process. Directs customer services via site visits, and planning meetings for definite and potential groups and effectively showcase the property and all services. Maximize revenues and controls expenses through effective negotiation of services and accurate forecasting. Respond to guest inquiries and special requests and resolve issues or concerns in a timely, friendly and efficient manner. Attendance required at forecasting meetings, menu review, department, citywide pre-cons, and operational department pre shifts meetings if applicable.

Requirements

  • Minimum Years of Experience: one (1) year Hospitality related experience at manager level.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the hotel property management systems (Delphi.fdc)
  • Significant experience in revenue management or a similar analytical role
  • Relevant degree, in business development or other relevant business field, from an academic institution (CMP, CPCE)
