About The Position

The Event Host is responsible for representing the College at events such as weddings and/or funerals located on the grounds of Emory & Henry College. The Event Host will create a warm, welcoming and hospitable environment for our guests and event attendees. The Event Host will serve as the primary point of contact for guests at events and will provide general information as needed to make the event operate as smoothly as possible.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving and directing guests to the appropriate location of the event.
  • Answering questions and addressing concerns of the guests in a charming and polite manner.
  • Ensuring that the event space is clean prior to and after the event to include light cleaning such as spot cleaning the church pews, emptying the trash receptacles and ensuring the restrooms are stocked and ready for the next event.
  • Offering polite salutations to guests as they leave the event.
  • Ensuring that the policies in effect for the event are followed to include safety protocols, social distancing, rental times, etc.
  • Must be polite and able to handle stressful situations with a calming, professional presence.
  • Must be able to operate the audio/visual equipment (minimal operating experience) to include turning on and off the lights and sound system.
